As we were....

....driving through Bleasdale this afternoon on our way back from Clitheroe, we couldn't help but notice a number of lambs using the public footpath and styles returning to the fields they had escaped from.

These were the lucky ones as unfortunately a mile or so further along, a sheep had been struck by a passing car. Her lamb was lying beside her.

We set off and found the farmer who came and rescued the lamb and removed the the body of its mother. Very sad.
