Rain...Rain...Rain

We finally got some rain. Not a lot, but better than nothing. A nice slow rain that lasted most of the morning. Plus...the temperature is only 71 F. Feels great.

The rain changes everything. The bees, butterflies, and dragonflies don't come out. That also means the hunting insect-eating birds aren't eating. I felt a little goofy standing out in the rain...with my camera...under my wife's red umbrella.

Good day to stay in and watch some sports from halfway around the world. For you Brits...how about Bradley Wiggins in the Tour de France? His strong finish today sets him up for the victory on Sunday.

Now...I'm watching the British Open. I set my alarm for 4:20 a.m., to make sure I didn't miss anything. I quickly brewed my tea...to go along with the crumpets I made last night. (Actually...I didn't get up until 7, and I had to look in the dictionary to see what a crumpet is.)

Hope it's done raining now. I'm supposed to play tennis at 4:30 p.m. with my nephew, and we have a Thursday night concert at our gazebo tonight. A group of high school fiddlers who are very good. I might even get up with the kids, and do a jig. HA!

The rain-dropped metal pieces are what we call "monkey bars"...part of a piece of playground equipment.
