Perpignan old town

did a bit of exploring Perpignan today and wandered into the old 'arab quarter'. Not too far though as not sure that its that safe to wander alone. 
This is a relatively smart street on the outskirts but there are some terribly derelict streets just a couple of minutes walk away from streets with trendy boutiques and chic cafes. I'm used to seeing poverty in London but here the contrast seems much more .
