DABCHICKS

Another turn around the park this afternoon and a chat with a friend I bumped into up there. Lots of bird activity, including a pair of Little grebe (dabchicks) busy fishing in the pond (I'm always amazed that there are any fish in the water, it looks so unpromising). They were being very successful (see extra). Also the nest boxes were being inspected and cleared out (other extra). I could have done with some sunshine, though, it was f-f-freezing out.
