Oscar de Muriel is a new author to me and, "A Fever of the Blood", couldn't be further removed from Commissario Brunetti and his Venetian adventures.

Set in 1889 and described as a concoction of horror, history and crime it certainly has to be taken with a pinch of salt but enjoyable so far.
