Busy Hands

Our knitting group is making a blanket for our friend who is facing a stretch of chemo. Each of us knit a couple squares in a pattern of our own devising and some of us got together this afternoon to sew it all together. This is the third time we have pooled our efforts for someone who needed comfort, and it's always amazing to me how the project comes together. It's a pretty random activity--the only guideline is that the squares measure 9 inches. Some do and some don't, and with a little pull here and there it doesn't really matter--the end result is a cozy piece filled with love and cheer and good wishes.
