Rush hour and delays

It took me two and a half hours to get home tonight. It should only take 40 mins. Honestly, why are the trains here so rubbish? It's not a one off. It's a regular weekly load of shite.
And I read a story this week about the driver of a train in Japan (I think) who had to apologise personally to all of the passengers for being a few minutes late. Unbelievable.
