Biggins

There are two flavours of Biggins just south of Kirkby Lonsdale: Low Biggins, which sits adjacent to the A65, and its slightly elevated cousin, High Biggins, a little way further up the hill. Not much further, though: it's more Higher Biggins.

I have a run which I've been doing for more than fifteen years that takes me through both but today I was walking, as I'd dropped the girls' car off at Kirkby Motors for its MOT. There's a little lane out the back of the garage that takes you up to the single track road that runs through High Biggins and that's the route I took back home.

There's a short cut through the woods from High Biggins to Low Biggins that I don't use when I'm running, which I did take this morning. It's rather nice and, looking at the mud path, evidently well-used. There are two or three benches on the way down, none of which commands a great view but all of which look rather nice places to stop and enjoy a moment.
