Abundance of Springtime Joy in the Hainbach Dale

Today the sky remained grey and humid. Sometimes a bleak sun tried to unveil itself. In vain. So it did not turn out too hot to walk up the highland meadow trail. On to the Totenberg - Death Mountain as translation would not be accurate -. Though we are following the old border here between Westphalia-Lippe and Hessen-Kassel no dead are burried in the mountain forest. The old-german name indicates that the forestry use was accessible for crossborder purposes. Foresters were not bound by state borders.

In the deserted forest we met a deer jumping away as we came too near. We found some wonderful wood anemones. We searched our way in the opposite direction to where we had entered the Totengrund from the other, southern side. That seems long ago. Old borderlines follow the geology in a special way: river and streambeds, natural formations in rocky heights and apart from the characteristic big old inscripted stones you may stumble over old fences. Remnants of forgotten power structures, faded away in the course of history.

As we had erred enough through these wood grounds, we turned back down into a more familiar landscape. near the Hainbach origins. Here the grass had grown thick and dense. So the I could not find back the Weeping Welling Eye. Never mind. We were very satisfied after this pleasant walking round. Changing mind and memory. Discovering new impressions by changing directions, deviations. Out in the fields Springtime in full deployment. And even without sunlight: new colours spreading everywhere. Abundance in Joy coming up.
