The Herring are running!!!

T's sister is doing very well, thanks for all the good thoughts yesterday, the surgery went well. We'll see her this weekend.We just chatted on teh phone and she sounds great!!

Our other big news is that Kalle our own Viking 'nephew' has made the cut to be part of an amazing Viking expedition. He'll be the advance PR guy, arriving in each port before the longboat sails in, dealing media etc. He's a journalist by trade and making the cut(4000 applied to have a  part of this voyage) is so exciting. It also means we will see him this summer when  
the Viking longship, The Draken Harald Hårfagre sails into NYC after a her voyage via... Haugesund Norway, April 24th on to Iceland, Greenland, Newfoundland, The St Lawrence Seaway with stops, Great Lakes and on to ports in Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin  & Minnesota. Then a return through the Great Lakes to the New York Canals, NYC and on to Mystic Seaport in CT in October for over wintering without her crew.
