Out on the bike for the first time this week and headed on down to the nature reserve. This shot is from the first hide looking over Lapwing Lake. Amazing that this beautiful spot has been created from a former landfill site.
Despite the grey clouds the light was wonderful. Made me wish that I was a painter and able to capture it as well as all the different shades of green in the trees. I have underexposed this shot to try and get some detail in the sky.
It was calm and quiet at the lake. Although you cannot see clearly from this shot a heron is perched on the dead tree on the left and on the lake is a family of Great Crested Grebes happily diving.
