Say cheese!
I have no idea what kind of bird this is, I spotted him at the end of my hike sitting on top of a fir tree. I could see some red coloring in him from where I stood. The heat has been keeping the wildlife at Chagrin River Park rather subdued. I hike there most everyday. They have a great 2 mile trail, that takes you through a heavily wooded section then past open fields. It meanders next to the Chagrin River for close to a mile then past an open area of shrubs and small trees where you can usualy see a lot of birds. There are a lot of birders there and I talk to them occasionaly but mostly I have no idea what they are talking about. It seems such a competitive thing with them. I just like walking enjoying the beauty of nature. If I see something beautiful I try to get a picture. I dont care what its name is or species, I just know its pretty. I saw a bald eagle flying over head as I drove there. How majestic. Lots of hawks in the area too but it seems like I only see them as Im driving not when Im walking with my camera. I ve discovered you cant really go looking for pictures, you have to let them come to you. I get a lot of pleasure sharing these pics with others and I post a lot of them onmy facebook page. I suffer from post traumatic stress disorder. It seems like the only time I really feel relaxed is when Im walking and behind the lense. The rest of the world melts away and I can focus on the moment
