Paddington

A long journey south on the train today. The first time I have done the Aberdeen to Twyford journey by train. It took about the same amount of time as going by car, though I could have a glass of wine during the journey and read a book, both things which had I been driving I could not do.

The photograph shows a building just a short way out of Paddington. A few years ago this building was featured in a television prograpomme. It represents an architectural style which has gone out of fashion. The building has now been listed. For the sake of the residents I hope the lifts are working.

Most of the journey was cloudy, and as far as York it was mostly raining. Much warmer here than in Aberdeen, Winter to summer in ten hours.
