Colossus
Colossus Rebuild
The use of machines to break into Lorenz, the high-grade cipher machine ( see one on loan from the Norway Army Museum in extra )used by Hitler and his High Command to encipher strategic messages was the brain-child of Bletchley Park Codebreaker, Max Newman. Colossus was developed by General Post Office engineer, Tommy Flowers, to help speed up the process.
Great day's visit to Bletchley Park - the once Top secret WW2 Code breaking centre- I went there about 20 years ago on Big Dave 's Russian motorbike and sidecar for a WW2 enactment - the huts were very run down and in a bad way . Good to see the new visitors' centre, restored huts and much improved facilities .
