Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Wet wet wet

Today wasn't even dreich - it was non stop rain. And cold. Where is Spring? Though I see the weather is a lot a better on the West Coast, where our travelling Kiwi friends are. Not much fun being a tourist in weather like this.

Archie and I were not keen to go out round the block mid morning, but we eventually got togged up and ventured out. I removed my trousers, put on my wellies and big coat (firmly zipped!). Then Archie had to have his coat on... Not happy. Tail down. Mind you, it does pop up again eventually - he can't help himself.

He kept stopping and refusing to move, but we eventually got far enough for him to grudgingly do his business then hurry home.

I've finished my book at last. I don't know why I persisted with it, but I did have a feeling of accomplishment. And waste of time.

I sent for new, proper earphones - the ones you get with an iPhone are completely useless. They fall out, even if you're sitting still. Now that I've got proper ones, I checked out the free audio books from the library, One Click Digital again. I've started Alan Cumming's autobiography, read by him.

JR came home and went to the gym. She came back two minutes later - it's shut for two hours on Tuesdays, which is a real nuisance. Undeterred, she set off again at the correct time, having organised tea for tonight and tomorrow!

She thinks I should go and avail myself of the cycling in the gym instead of swimming. I think this is a good idea, and I may follow up on this...

Diet going well. I have eaten nothing untoward. For three days now.
