Colourful

Several of these tulips appeared after the rain this afternoon. However, they have very short stems!?

This evening at our WI meeting we heard a fascinating talk on gardens in Japan. The Japanese do not use colour, unless it is a shade of green, and their trees and shrubs are clipped into shape. Any recent additions of red bridges have come over from China apparently.
I think they would find this tulip a bit over the top!
