Kathakali
Traditional kerala dance was fascinating. There's a complex sign language used instead of speech and the make up tells you a lot about the character. The green and red means a hypocrite.
The day was spent on a whirlwind auto rickshaw ride through the town. I had a chat about chemistry with a washing man, before we discovered that a lot of the temples were closed. Sitting in a sea breeze for drinks by the sea was excellent. The inevitable shops we also had to look in were predictably tedious but then we crashed a wedding which more than made up for it. We discovered that going barefoot in a church felt strange that it takes 16 pies to make an Anna and astride a tiger is the best way to show anger.
New food: ginger ice-cream (incredible) and kerala prawn curry which had this intriguing sour vegetable in.
