Cherry blossoms
This cherry tree hangs over into my yard from the neighbor next door. It has glorious blooms on it and it offers little gifts of new trees all over my yard, but in all these years, I've yet to have a cherry from it. I believe the birds and squirrels get too them too quickly for me. Oh well, I get to look out every day and see this amazing bouquet of white flowers tinged with a bit of pink.
“but memories are time beings, too, like cherry blossoms or ginkgo leaves; for a while they are beautiful, and then they fade and die.”
― Ruth Ozeki, A Tale for the Time Being
