Mono Moday - New Beginnings

January may be the start of the new year, but in nature Spring is more truely representative of a "new beginning" as plants start their new cycle of growth.

The leaf buds on this  shrub in my garden started to emerge in the mild Spring weather this week. I don't know what the bush is without crawling underneath it to find the label, but its leaves are a lovely golden colour with pinky red tips, and yesterday positively glowed in the backlit sun.  Today there was little sun, but a mono conversion for Mono Monday, hosted by davidc, has added its own subtle glow.
