New Hobby

I have decided to take up a new hobby ~ creating and painting Pennsylvania Dutch Hex signs. And since I will probably be out of a job soon I will have plenty of time to devote to it! I will delve deeper on the job situation at a later date.

These are a couple of test pieces that I painted today. They are not perfect but not awful either! The large circular hex sign is called a double rosette and the smaller sign is called a distelfink. The distelfink was drawn free hand and then painted in. The word 'distelfink' (literally 'thistle-finch') is the German name for the European goldfinch.
