Memphis in the Meantime
Off with the good old boys to an alt.pub in Newington. Followed by an alt.country gig at the Queens Hall. The pub promised an eclectic jukebox with an awesome selection of Metal, Punk, Rock, and Goth music. Awesome. Indeed. That may depend on how wet behind the ears you are of course.
So to the main event. John Hiatt! Actually, the support act was the incomparable Dean Owens (of whom more later!). And then Mr H came onstage with his band. He was also quite incomparable. Haha. So much better than I expected. Crazy Horse move aside! And what a voice.
Anyway, afterwards we of course had to head back towards our homesteads via the Diggery Dawgs, and who came in but... Dean Owens. What good chats - an interesting and talented guy, without a doubt. And his bassist should not be overlooked - next week he's off twanging along with Kate Rusby.
Enough! Kip time. I should mention that MrT booked the tickets - great seats downstairs, he said - this may be brought up again.
