Minutes Old

Today has gone really quickly - Alan left  this morning for Heathrow and is jetting his way to Shanghai as a write this, and I went to Saddlescombe Farm as it was their lambing open day.  I was very fortunate to see three lambs born and this little chap was literally minutes old.  The farmer confirmed that it was a boy because the Ewe had been tagged with a green spot, which meant that if she gave birth to a girl, she would be used for breeding because she comes from a good line.  She gave birth to a second while I was there and still had another to go, so hopefully there was at least one girl out of the three.

I learnt about wet adoptions as there were two orphans, and got to stroke some babies that were just a few days old.  It was really lovely and although I was probably the only adult there on their own, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

When I got back home, I took the boys for a walk along the undercliff and then back over the top of the cliffs, did my ironing and made my dinner - which was lamb!   I feel awful!

Alan messaged me when he was on the plane - he always travels upper class on his business trips, and some of the McLaren F1 team boarded and sat either side of him - it's the Chinese Grand Prix next weekend.  I'm not sure if he'll get the opportunity to chat to them, but you never know!

Anyway, it's work tomorrow and it's late, so I'd better say goodnight - I hope you've had a good weekend.
