Holiday read
I don't know who left this book in our house after their holidays but as I am off for a few days I think I will try a Terry Pratchet. It is easily twelve years since I last read a discworld novel but as there are no more Harry Potters to read and I haven't bought the last Artemis Fowl book or borrowed the Patrick Ness, "Monsters of men" from the library I guess its time for bad puns.
By the way if you haven't yet come across Patrick Ness as an author don't be put off by the young adult categorisation of his novels, the first book in his trilogy "The knife of never letting go" is an outstanding read which had me so enthralled that when I put the book down to go to sleep I had to get up after ten minutes because I had to know. The second novel "The Ask and the Answer" was equally as good and possibly better but was a very hard read as the subject matter was much more disturbing. My brother has said very little about the third book but he did admit he was afraid of what might happen but was compelled to continue.
These books will make you cry so unless you aren't bothered by what others think, read them in sunglasses.
