Through the kitchen window

We woke this morning to a blanket of slushy snow.  That wasn't in the forecast and disrupted my plans for cutting the grass.  Drat.  the snow soon disappeared and took my gardens intention with it.

We spent some time watching the birds on the feeder which has now been relocated nearer the kitchen.  The familiar chaffinches and sparrows were joined by greenfinches, goldfinches and also yellowhammers who stuck firmly to the ground.  When I opened the door to get a clearer view they disappeared.  There must be a way.
