Reach for the sky!
A week ago I published a blip of one of these magnolia flowers opening, I think there were only two at that stage. Today after 3 days of lovely sunshine and blue skies (unforecast yesterday though there was some rain in the evening) they are all bursting forth and reaching for that blue sky.
It was totally blue this morning together with a frost and some wisps of mist in the trees up at St Ives but while I was out cleaning garden furniture (shhh) this afternoon there were little wispy bits of cloud making it look like a summer sky.
Mustn't get carried away! Some of the blooms are probably a bit scorched as frost and sun combined isn't good for them and was the reason Chris gave for years for us not growing a magnolia.
Hope you've all had a good weekend. Easter hols over for many today, I know my daughter will be back at school tomorrow. Not long till the May Bank holidays though if you are in the UK.
