Growing old disgracefully

By GOD

IN THE WOODS

We've had so many wet Saturdays that it seems months since we've been in the woods with the VIP.  We had several hours of house-building, rock-climbing, dragon-slaying, clambering up and down muddy slopes,  etc:

'Granny, what took you so long?'
'My old legs - that's what took me so long.'
'Oh'  Long pause.  'Are your legs going to be old for ever now?'

However, it wasnae me that collapsed on the sofa after a hard day in the woods (extra).

This was also the first outing with the new camera.  I wanted something I could stuff in my bag and always have with me, unlike the DSLR.  I may get used to it in time, but it is a steeper learning curve than I expected. First lesson - take off the lens cover.  I shot about 20 images of daffodils before I twigged that one as I am so used to the Nikon warning me.   Second lesson - check that when you took it out of the bag you didn't accidentally knock the aperture dial.  I shot another 20 or so images that were all completely over exposed.  Sigh... Finally, one or two reasonable ones of the VIP, but too bamboozled to go off fully automatic yet.
