Young Housefinch

This little fellow sat there on the feeder tray dozing for long enough for me to find the camera a get his picture. Just as he was ready to leave he showed his developing back colours [in the extra box]. He is one of the young finches born late last autumn and either have hung around with the parents or have reappeared now.
As you can see the 5 inches of snow have melted and we hope not to get more tomorrow! What may appear to be falling snow is messy food bits from birds who do not chew with their beaks closed.
