Great Grandma's

We had a visit to my grandmas' today. It's a long drive but totally worth it. We visited my dads mum first in her sheltered accommodation. We had tea and biscuits in the communal room whilst the children ran around outside in the garden. We chatted about this and that and then headed out for lunch in a nearby pub.

After A had turned his white shirt orange by refusing to wear a bib we made our way round to my mum's mums' house. She looked so much healthier than when we last saw her. I love her house. It hasn't changed a bit in the last 20 years. I can see my younger self in there admiring all the ornaments and marvelling over the old photos on the walls. We drank more tea and the children watched the bin lorries from the front garden. My dad helped her to sort out her phone as it had been playing up and then before we knew it it was time to head home again!

We didn't get home till after 7pm and the children didn't get to bed till 9pm! It was a fab day though and I'm so glad we got organised and made the trip.
