Москва
Moskva
Day 6 of our trip to Russia and our first day in Moscow.
After a surprisingly quiet 3rd class ride on the night train we arrived in Moscow at 10 a.m., dropped off our luggage at our AirBnB appartment, and went for a stroll around Red Square (Красная площадь)
and along the Moskva River (Москва) down to Gorky Park (Центральный парк культуры и отдыха имени Горького) and continued to the Lomonosov University's main building. If you'd be German, you would have a melancholic feeling from only thinking of that: this is basically the central line of the inofficial hymn (by the German band Scorpions) of the German Reunification.
Pictured is the Moskva River in front of the Moscow Kremlin (Московский Кремль), with the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour (Храм Христа Спасителя) to the left, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (Здание Министерства иностранных дел России) main building, one of the so called 'Seven Sisters', in the background.
"I follow the Moskva down to Gorky Park, listening to the Wind of Change. Take me to the magic of the moment on a glory night, where the children of tomorrow dream away in the Wind of Change." - (Scorpions: Wind of Change)
