Occasionally Focused

On the right: my black belt from the mid-80s.

On the left: My shirobi (white belt) which I wore from November last year - my return to karate-do - until last week, when Kancho Sims sensei told me it was time to wear a black belt again.

Both these belts are important. The old black belt signifies my early training, and the foundation instilled by Kancho Sims. The shirobi is a symbol of my return to training in karate-do; my renewed dedication and motivation.
