Had a good birthday despite leaving home at midnight, driving three hundred plus miles and taking two flights ....... the very lovely cabin crew on my return flight gave me complimentary champagne!!  
How unexpected and very kind. 

Home to a great meal cooked by Himself, a bottle of wine, some cards, a chocolate cake and a wild greeting from Mister Whisper!!!
(some sadness it being the first birthday without a card, a "just after midnight text" and a morning chat with my Mum but each "special day" for the first year will be like that, I suspect).
