Hospital food

It's not too bad actually.

After a day of much deliberation and discussions with my GP and with the surgeons I decided to go ahead and check myself in to hospital as planned.

The pro's - an inconclusive biopsy and a tendency for benign tumours of the parotid gland to become malignant over time. Danger to the facial nerve from pressure from even a benign tumour.

The con's - a not insignificant risk of permanent damage to the facial nerve leading to disfigurement, a high likelihood of temporary injury to the facial nerve which could take months to resolve.
And a terror of general anaesthetics.

Weighed up, the risk of not operating now seems the slightly higher risk.
So here I am with my last supper.
