Gander

I could hear the geese from my hotel room when I woke up this morning. I wasn't expecting to find one by the side of the road when I walked to work a bit later.

The colour version of this shot makes the goose really stand out against the green background, especially its reddish orange feet and beak. With the B&W version it blends in much more and the pattern of its feathers almost mirror the grass. Although birds can probably see more colours than us humans, many animals see only a kind of B&W representation of their world [1], so this seemed to be the edit with which to go.
