Reversing Focus
I read an article on using a reversing ring so that any lens can be turned into a macro - sounded interesting so I researched the kit necessary and ordered it. This is done with a 50mm lens 1.4D at f5.6. It is different from using a dedicated macro lens so I don't think it could be used 'instead of', but the equipment was inexpensive and it is fun; being manual focus only it makes it a bit more challenging to get something in focus, preferably the bit you want! The first task was to work out how it all fitted with the lens and camera. That part looked easy on the video but, in practice, these experts assume a great deal of knowledge and what is a 'piece of cake' for them took me about half an hour to comprehend.
Having got that part sorted, it was then looking around for candidates to use for the 'trials'; this hyacinth has seen better days but the shapes were interesting.
I am aware I have failed on the poetry challenge the past few days - time has been in short supply to sit and think out something. I will resolve to do better in the future!
