Ramble On
We did a circular walk to Blea Tarn (pictured). Ignoring the horrible weather forecast, we wrapped up and packed some supplies to keep us going. It was a fairly steep climb (hence me being quite a way behind everyone else). We experienced a lot of water and most of us ended up with wet feet at one time or another. Poor old Alfie came off worst as he stepped into a bog and got soaked up to his knees.
We eventually made it to the appropriately named 'Boot Inn' which had a lovely welcoming fire and we took off our wet boots and put them in front of the fire to dry off while we had a very good lunch and a couple of pints.
We then decided we couldn't manage the 2 mile walk home from the pub so ran to the train station and got the La'al Ratty back to the campsite opposite our house.
There are some brave souls camping in there. It's absolutely freezing.
It was so nice to get back to the house and change into warm clothes. We're now having a drink in the conservatory and watching the new little black lambs which have arrived in the field outside.
