Carabus Nemoralis

Found this wee guy in the garden today while I was out checking on my pond. I have the frog chorus going on at the moment, still to early for spawn but hope to see it soon. Meanwhile, this magnificent ground beetle (Carabus Nemoralis) caught my eye. Isn't he a beauty? Beautiful colouring but he's useful too, they eat slugs and snails. He's welcome in my garden anytime. :-)
