The Back of Beyond
After a night in a very comfy bunkhouse, with a lot of snorers(me included), we breakfasted together and discussed the kayak plan for the day.
The weather was rather driech but not too blowy. That is not how a sea kayaker describes weather - wind speed and direction being all important. However we were up in the wilds with no internet or phone signal - so no weather forecast! This didn't phase out super experienced coach who no doubt had plans A, B and C somewhere up his cagoule sleeve.
So we headed out in the boats down the coast, around headlands, through rocky islands and to sandy beaches. Sadly no photos as I didn't want to risk a soggy camera.
We practiced our paddle strokes and checked out the tides, wind and water conditions. Verdict was that it was quite a tiring day! The beaches were fab and we have made a mental note for a future camping expedition.
Dinner back at Glenuig and the teenager went off in search of Internet and phone signal. But none to be found - no evidence of the strange beasts on this sign either.
