Primrose time
Just a splash of colour on the roadside verge just outside our place. We haven’t planted any of them.
A whole host of primroses have simply sprung up, and multiplied, so that this year we have a rich display of them on the verge and in the bank by the hedge separating us from the road.
As a youngster, I recall visiting nearby woods with my grandmother at this time of year. Armed with a ball of wool to tie them without damaging the tender stalks, we would pick and collect posies of primroses. The memory has stuck in my mind after all these years.
Now, we have our own collection on the verge just outside the back door.
