LPH Day 1

First day of Limited Walking Holiday was a visit to Watendlath via Ashness landing stage, Ashness Bridge and Surprise View. This photo taken at Ashness Bridge, by which time Limited Walking  had become VERY Limited Walking for me having managed to twist my left ankle, which prevented mr scrambling over the rocks by the bridge.
Very sad to see the state of the packhorse bridge at Watendlath. Having stood for 4/500 years the recent floods have made it unsafe and it is held together by scaffolding poles and blocks of wood. Will have to be rebuilt befor it can be used again.
