Nearly four years late!

We never got to the Olympics, so this was our first visit to the Olympic Park. What a wonderful space! As you can probably tell from the sky, the weather was mixed, to say the least... We walked round and took a guided boat tour too. We went into the velodrome where some time trials were taking place, but to Hubby's disappointment couldn't go into the main stadium - it's currently being converted as West Ham are taking it over next season. Hubby is a West Ham supporter, so we decided to head off to the Boleyn ground at Upton Park.

It took ages to get there because of the engineering works taking place over Easter. The lad on duty at West Ham told us it would take about 20 minutes on foot, but it was probably more like 20 minutes by car! Much to our surprise, the club shop was open so we popped in.

Afterwards we headed to Plaistow underground station, and from there hubby was able to find his way to his grandparents' home - pretty impressive memory skills as his grandparents died over 50 years ago!
