Goksu River

This is a lovely picture I took from the bridge going over the Goksu River, just near Anadolu Hisari. We had went to Kucuksu Kasri with my mom to get some culture, and I took this picture when we were walking back home. The color of the sea and the river (which was greenish) was absolutely amazing, and I loved the image I have seen with river vessels, small boats, boats that turn into restaurants during night and the big picture behind them all.

The rivers in Istanbul always confused me, because I didn't know which ones were full of crap and smelled really bad, and which ones were actually considerably clean. There are in fact a lot of rivers connecting to bosphorus, and sadly, some of them were joined to sewage systems and carry human waste in them, and empty right in to the Bosphorus. Halic had the same problem, and now, it is full of human waste and the smell near it is unbearable. There are lots of ways to get rid of human waste, however this method is the cheapest, and that's why people do it, however it is really wrong and it is severely affecting the nature AND the environment we live in.
