Double Peak mountain

Another lovely day in San Marcos. Helped Chris first to replace sprinklers on his garden then we went to Ralph's to shop for our stay in Yosemite next week and for tonight's dinner.

After lunch we hiked the Double Peak trail, a four mile loop to a viewpoint giving great 360deg views of the San Marcos region. It was amazing to see the city spread out in front of us, nestled in a valley between various ranges of mountains. This shot of us was taken from the summit.

The dogs did well, although Reesie had to be carried some of the way. Babe on the other hand managed the whole route without much difficulty.

Between us we cooked a chicken noodle dish, ably supported by a glass of champagne, a bottle or two of beer and a drop of wine. The dinner turned out fine although I hadn't tried the recipe before. We were missing a desert, but a piece of chocolate helped to bridge the gap.
