Darkness and Light

Although undergoing a series of chemotherapy treatments after surgery, meeting the challenge of a critical cancer diagnosis, my close friend E. continues to lead the Sunday evening sangha (a Buddhist term for community of practitioners). Her honesty and vulnerability provide an example as she invites us to share with one another. How is it that we meet our strong emotional states? How do we remain connected to ourselves and each other as we navigate rough waters? How do we deepen in compassion and kindness?
