Kaikoura

I drove to Kaikoura, a small town on the east coast, famous for dolphin and whales. I had heard about an amazing experience with a company called Dolphin Encounter where you swim with wild dolphins. I tried to book but was put on a waiting list for the next day.

Luckily I got a call back from them in the evening as there was a space free on the 9am trip the next day. I was so excited! My campsite was right next to the beach and although the weather wasn't great, it was meant to clear up in time for the dolphins!
