Simply wood

I love wood; the feel of it, the colour, the grain, and, sometimes, even the smell of it.
I intended to post a photo of my latest acquisition - a very simple cross - about 3 inches long - bought as a reminder of the retreat I went to recently. That's it, in the bottom right corner.
In total contrast to the simplicity of the cross, I decided to take a series of photos of the most complex wooden item I have - a Nidderdale jewellery box. At first glance a block of wood (this is Burr Walnut) it comes apart to reveal four small drawers inside. It measures 7"x 5'" x 6" high.
