The Brown House
Wow, what a day we've had!
It began early this morning when we were greeted by the cacophony of two of the stock car females (read yesterday's blip) having a domestic.
Honestly, they were like a couple of fish wives.
In the end we made a complaint with the manager, who had also had problems with them. Thankfully, they left this morning, so all is peaceful.
Today we went to Waiuta (an historic gold mining village, now abandoned), with stops in Dobson, the Brunner coal mine, Ngahere, Ahaura, Ikamatua, Blackwater, Totara Flat, Nelson's Creek, and Stillwater (where I photographed a goat!).
There is just so much to see on the West Coast - even the power poles are photogenic, with their moss-covered poles which look about 100 years old!
This old, abandoned house is in Ngahere (I think!), and has been left to rott into oblivion.
The extra photo is the fishing boat, 'Kathryn', coming in at the Cobden Breakwater in Greymouth.
Tomorrow we're off to Hokitika.
