The Famous Dalbeattie Slab

Mountain Biking in the Dalbeattie Forest with Erin today we took a short hike up to see the famous slab. Famous? you ask - is it not just a slab of rock in the forest. It's actually a section of the Hard Rock mountain bike trail avoided by most people that ride it. I've seen photo's of it from above before and it looked OK - couldn't see why my friend had been so adamant that it was so scary. Now I've seen it I can see what he meant. You'll notice that I placed my daughter in the middle for scale, dangerously positioned in the path of oncoming riders.. (..it's OK, the car park was empty when we set off).
