California Quail on San Juan Island WA

We went over to Friday Harbor today to do some shopping, and then took a side trip out to White Point Road just west of Roche Harbor. I really enjoy this area as there are lots of birds, and wide open spaces. As we were driving both Bob and I noticed a larger bird fly across the road...Bob suggested it was a quail and he was right on. He sat nicely in the tree for several minutes while I photographed him.
