The town of Heck, Missouri, advertises itself as "Home of the World's Tallest Building".

The Braunton Building on the outskirts of Heck is 2,913 feet tall. Except... Except that the building, which houses Heck's shopping mall would more accurately be described as 2,913 feet long. Heck's Bureau of Trade describes the building as a "horizontal skyscraper". The retail units are numbered "1st Storey", "2nd Storey" etc.

Virgil Braunton, the brains behind The Braunton, lives in the unit at the far end of the development - the "113th Storey Penthouse".
