The Boab Tree.. Kings Park Perth.

After travelling an amazing 3200 km from telegraph Creek, near Warmup, Northern Western Australia, the 750 year old (estimated) Boab was planted in July 2008.
The tree weighs 36 tonnes and stretches 14 metres high and eight metres wide (branch span). Its trunk measures 2.5 metres in diameter.
This was the longest land journey of a tree this size in history.
The construction of a new bridge on the Great Northern Highway required the tree to be moved.
The Indigenous Gija people of the East Kimberley gifted the tree to the people of Western Australia.
Its wonderful to finally see this magnificent tree flourishing.
